No Love Lost Tidbits

Speculation continues to run rampant about who will get a shot at Jeff Cannon's Heavyweight Title this Feb. 4th when MEWL returns to the Alliance Armory.
I've heard some suggest that the title should be defended in a triple threat match, with Cannon facing former champ “The Pure One” Justin Diaz and former number one contender “The Natural” Christian Vaughn. Others have proposed a meeting early in the night between Vaughn and Diaz, with the winner going on to face Cannon in the main event.
But my sources in the Championship Committee tell me that neither of these possibilities will happen, and that a decision has already been made as to how, and against whom, Cannon will defend his belt that evening. And although they won't tell me what decision the Committee has come to, they assure me the fans will be surprised. But will it be a pleasant surprise?
It seems I was on the money with my speculation that Wilbur Whitlock's very career could be in jeopardy. The rumor I'm hearing from the front office is that the promotion has decided to lay down the law. Fans don't pay to see wrestlers who don't have a chance of winning, so Wilbur has been warned to turn this losing streak around or MEWL will no longer need the former Main Event Champion's services.
My two cents on this: It's no secret that I've never been a fan of Wilbur Whitlock. In fact, I can't stand the man. He has, since the day I first met him, taken every opportunity to embarrass, belittle, and taunt me, often making my time with this company sheer misery.
On the other hand, we all know he can get it done in the ring. He is in a slump now, sure, but he is one hell of a wrestler who has at least offered a stiff challenge to everyone he has ever faced, and he has beaten most of them. If Wilbur hits the road, it will be my gain, and I sure won't shed a tear over him. But it would be a loss for the fans, who I think, like and support Wilbur Whitlock.
Ultimately though, the choice is up to you. The fans decide who they want to see and don't want to see. If MEWL shows Wilbur the door and people complain, I'm sure they'll bring him back. But if they keep him around and people start leaving to visit the restroom and grad a soda while he wrestles, well, I think you know what will happen.
So speak up: If you enjoy watching Wilbur work and want to see him stick around, be sure to make some noise the next time you see him in that ring.
And the rumors just keep coming... a worker recently confided in me that he would like to work a date or two for MEWL if the details can be ironed out. I can't say who it was just yet, in case it never happens, but if he does show up in MEWL it is sure to cause a sensation!
Finally, I’ve been told that MEWL wants to find a good way to crown new title holders for the vacant Tag Team Championship. The details are nowhere near finalized, so take to the forum and let us know what you think. Should the titles just be awarded to a worthy team, and if so who would you like to see as the champs? Should MEWL run a tournament, and if so who would you like to see participate? And what rules should the tournament follow? Let us know what you think.
