The Ties that Bind Aftermath

June 25, 2006

MEWL fans saw another night of unbelievable wrestling at the Alliance Armory Sat. June 17! There were including FIVE title defenses, a surprise main event, and a brutal, bloody Dog Collar Match!

Right from the start the fans saw a new champion crowned as General Manager stripped the former titleholder of the North American strap and awarded it to the very worthy Lones Oaks. And that was before a single bout had even taken place!

The evening's first match saw Cruiserweight Champion and TNA Superstar Sharkboy successfully defend his title against Unknown in a fast-paced, back-and-forth bout that proved once again that the action in MEWL is on par with anything you'll find in the so-called "big leagues."

But that wasn't the only title match on the evening. The-team-formerly-known-as-Team-X, "The Upgrade" Tyrone Evans and Kano Karter announced their new name, "B.E.T.," which stands for "Black Entertainment Team." Then they defended their Tag Team Titles by scoring a win over the team of Sideshow, leaving Durty the Clown laid out and defenseless when Otis came out to pin him and win the Hardcore Championship. Referee Logan "The Tool" Scott was reluctant to make the count, and even called Otis "a retard." That once brought out G.M. Orlando once again, who announced Scott would have to face Otis for the Hardcore Title at MEWL's Aug. 5 show at the Alliance Armory.

Then "The Pure One" Justin Diaz ducked out on "Big Guns" Jeff Cannon's challenge, sending one of his Apostles of Light, "The Natural" Christian Vaughn, to face Cannon instead. The two duked it out in a Dog Collar Match that left the ring covered in blood before Cannon eked out the victory.

Finally, Jazin Blaze came within a hair of winning the World Title from Diaz, pinning the champ for a three-count but then falling prey to the Stigmata, Diaz's brutal finisher, when it was announced that the bout would continue because Diaz had his foot on the ropes.

Now rumor has it Blaze may find himself the number one contender at MEWL's Aug. 5 show, which will also feature the aforementioned hardcore bout as well as a Threeway match for the North American Championship between Lones Oaks, Robby Starr, and Sherman Tank! Stay tuned to this website for more information as it becomes available!

G.M. John Orlando stripped the former titleholder of the North American strap and awarded it to Lones Oaks.

CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Sharkboy (c) defeated Unknown to retain the belt.

"The Pure One" Justin Diaz announced that although he said he accepted "Big Guns" Jeff Cannon's challenge to a Dog Collar Match and he said the World Title would be on the line tonight, he never said he would be the one fighting Cannon, or that Cannon would be the one vying for the belt. Instead "The Natural" Christian Vaughn would square off against Cannon, while Diaz would defend his belt against a surprise challenger in the main event.

Robby Starr beat Brian Biggs.

NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH: Lones Oaks (c) made newcomer Draga tap out.

"Hot Commodity" Matt Mason and Sherman Tank ambushed G.M. John Orlando with the help of Jayme Braxton. Robby Starr made a save, but not before Orlando had to be helped out of the ring. After the A-List double-teamed Starr, Orlando announced Mason and Braxton were suspended.

TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
B.E.T. vs. Sideshow
"The Upgrade" Tyrone Evans pinned Durty the Clown

IMPROMPTU HARDCORE TITLE MATCH Otis took advantage of the 24/7 rule and pinned Durty the Clown (c) following Durty's tag match.

Mr. Orlando announced that because referee Logan "The Tool" Scott was slow to make the count in Otis' title victory, the official would have to wrestle Otis for the belt at MEWL's Aug. 5 show.

DOG COLLAR MATCH "Big Guns" Jeff Cannon pinned "The Natural" Christian Vaughn.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
"The Pure One" Justin Diaz nearly lost his title to surprise challenger Jazin Blaze, but the bout was restarted because Diaz's foot had been on the ropes when the former Cruiserweight Champion made the pin. Diaz took advantage of the confusion to hit Blaze with the Stigmata and retain the gold.
