September 2 Dismember Aftermath

September 16, 2006

MEWL returned to the Alliance Armory Sept. 16 with another action- packed show! The show began with an interview with Lones Oaks and his manager SEXY Lexi Lane, explaining that Oaks was now able to return to training after enduring a savage beating at the hands of Sherman Tank in last month's threeway match for the North American Championship that also included Robby Starr. At that point the A-List entered the ring with Tank, pointing out that Oaks' rematch clause was for the very next show, so if Oaks didn't face Tank there and then, even though he clearly wasn't physically ready for such a match, he would have to forfeit his right to a return bout.

At that point Robby Starr came out, claiming he would have won the North American Championship if Heavyweight Champ Justin Diaz had not interfered in the bout. Starr challenged "The Pure One" Diaz to a match for the Heavyweight strap, but A-List member "Hot Commodity" Matt Mason felt he was the one most deserving of a shot. But then Diaz himself came out to the ring... in a wheelchair. It turns out the champ was injured, and so General Manager John Orlando booked a number one contender's match between Mason and Starr for later in the show.

After all that business was cleared up, Tank jumped Oaks to start their bout. The match started and ended with Oaks getting smashed by Tank, then after the bell was sounded Mason and Tank kept beating Oaks. The crowd waited on in silence until Oaks was able to get up and head back to the locker room.

The second match was Kano vs. Luis Diamonte. Kano was accompanied to the ring by Bounce and Tyrone Evans, and Bounce smacked ring announcer Eric Layton for not announcing Kano the "right" way. Newcomer Diamonte put up a valiant effort, but he could not offset the advantage Kano had with two men in his corner. In the end, Kano was over "3 on 1 gangsta style".

John Orlando came out and gave Logan Scott a few moments to address the fans before surrendering his Hardcore Championship. The 34 year old suffered two heart attacks in recent weeks, and will be unable to continue wrestling for at least the near future. Orlando then announced that to determine a new International Xtreme Hardcore Champion at the Oct. 14 show WICKED, there will be a SINFUL 7 match, featuring seven men in three stages of HELL. The first seven minutes will be an over the top rope battle royal. When the seven minutes expire, the remaining men will go into a hardcore match until they are down to the last two men, who will have a last man standing match -- no submission or pin falls.

Then there was a Hardcore Match. Durty the Clown brought a birthday cake for his opponent, Brandon X, and Durty's manager, The Time Traveler, also brought a gift -- a pretty flowered dress. Brandon X found the whole thing very amusing, and challenged Durty to a loser wears the dress match, with the stipulation that the loser would have to wear it until they win their next match. Durty, who was the longest reigning Hardcore Champ, accepted. Durty and tag partner Psycho then tried to smash the cake in Brandon's face, but he ducked and it was The Time Traveler who ended up covered in frosting. After a brutal hardcore marathon, Bandon X came out on top, pinning Durty and then putting the dress on him.

Ryan Midnight faced Christian Vaughn in a fast-paced, back-and-forth match, with newcomer Midnight's pulling off a major upset by pinning Vaughn.

Jazin Blaze vs. Mario Fontaine might have been the best match of the night: high-risk, action-packed, and never a dull moment! Blaze came out on top, but this match could have gone either way, right to the bell. A rematch has already been signed for Oct. 14's WICKED!

"The Upgrade" Tyrone Evans squared off against Miles O'Tool, delivering hit after hit to the returning newcomer who made his way to the ring to the New Kids on the Block's "Hangin Tough." Nice enough kid but that right there was reason enough to get the beat down "3 on 1 gangsta style" that he really deserved. Tyrone came out on top with just a little help from his boys.

Next was a number one contender's match between Team X, Mike Mirra and Patrick McGrath, and "Killer" Chris Kole and Shane Sensation. Veterans Kole and Shane were the victorious ones and will face B.E.T. for the Tag Team Titles at WICKED on October 14.

The Main Event... Robby Starr vs. "Hot Commodity" Matt Mason. This match was unbelievable, and it would have been interesting to see who would have won. However the match was thrown out when "The Reject" Richard Friar and "The Natural" Christian Vaughn, along with a masked man about Justin Diaz's height and build, stormed the ring and delivered a beatdown on Starr.

John Orlando then came out to inform the masked man and Justin Diaz's followers that due to their interference Diaz would be scheduled to face Robby Starr, Matt Mason and the returning "Big Guns" Jeff Cannon at WICKED, an announcement which made the crowd ecstatic. The roof almost came off on this one!

Mark your calendars now for Oct. 14, MEWL's one year anniversary show WICKED!
