Betrayed Aftermath

May 20, 2006

Fans in attendance at the Alliance Armory Sat. April 29 were treated to another great evening of action, including two title defenses, a hate-filled six man tag, seven total matches and an appearance from an international wrestling star!

TNA superstar Sharkboy was what everyone was talking about at first, his appearance eclipsing even the highly anticipated main event. And Sharkboy didn't disappoint: he took on Cruiserweight Champion Virus and Unknown in a thrilling threeway bout, capturing the title in the process! He also stuck around afterwards signing autographs and posing for pictures with a delighted crowd. MEWL General Manager John Orlando has already announced that Sharkboy will be back in the Armory on June 17 to defend his newly won title.

But all thoughts of the new champ faded once the main event got underway. Due to an illness Lones Oaks could not compete, meaning the planned six-man tag match between the team of Oaks, "Big Guns" Jeff Cannon and Jazin Blaze and the team of "The Pure One" Justin Diaz, "The Natural" Christian Vaughn and "The Reject" Richard Friar became a handicap match.

As if that wasn't enough to make this hatred-fueled match even more intense, Mr. Orlando announced that the match would carry a special stipulation: if Cannon and Blaze won, Cannon would get a shot at Diaz and the title at MEWL's next show; if Diaz got the win, he would get to hand-pick his next challenger.

When the smoke had cleared, Diaz and company, now calling themselves the Apostles of Light, had managed to pull off yet another sneaky win, prompting Cannon to challenge Diaz to a dog collar match at the June 17 show.

Will Diaz accept "Big Gun's" challenge, or, as seems more likely, use his right to choose his own challenger on an opponent of a lesser caliber? Be there on the 17th and stay tuned to this website to find out!

Brandon X defeated Dave Krews, and was then attacked by Team X, "The Upgrade" Tyrone Evans and Kano Karter after refusing to join forces with them. MEWL newcomers Mike Mirra and Patrick McGrath then made the save, announcing they were the true Team X. G.M. John Orlando announced the two teams would meet later in the evening for the rights to the name.

Chris Kole beat Shaggy.
